Located 14 miles northeast of Atlanta in DeKalb County, Tucker was initially settled in the 1820s, later developed as a railroad community in 1892, and finally incorporated as a city in November 2015.

There are several picnic shelters, and you’ll discover a newly-added dog park too.
Enjoy shopping and dining opportunities at Main Street. Here, you’ll find several locally-owned shops and restaurants to explore. Main Street is also the centerpiece for many yearly Tucker events, including the Tucker Day Festival, where residents and visitors enjoy live music, food, arts, crafts, and hometown parades.
Tucker is home to the Tucker Brewing Company & Beer Garden, regarded as the most extensive beer garden in Georgia.
Schools
Schools are abundant in the area for families with children to attend. For primary and secondary education, Tucker residents can attend the DeKalb County School District, which includes three of the top-ranked schools in the nation.
The Elementary schools are Evansdale, Brockett, Idlewood, Livsey, Midvale, Nesbit Elementary School, and Smoke Rise Charter Elementary Schools. Middle schools include the Tucker and Stone Mountain Middle Schools. For High Schools, you have the Tucker, Parkview, Meadowcreek, McClure Health Science High Schools.
